Why Is Web Application Development Important for Enterprises?

Web application development is a specialized area of software development involved in developing as well as maintaining software applications, which are utilized for creating web pages or deploying web-based solutions. Telecom Billing is a process of collecting usage, aggregating it, applying required charges and finally generating invoices for the customers.

The Introduction of Web Applications in Enterprises

Online ordering was a novelty, which was attempted by very few individuals, online payment was still in its infancy and Google was just a search engine.

Fast forward to the present day and a completely different picture confronts us – web pages are dynamic with content designed to attract new customers, online payment systems are used by a large proportion of the internet users, there are multi-billion dollar companies that only operate online and Google is definitely a lot more than a Search Engine.

This transformation did not happen overnight and a multitude of factors precipitated the change – one of which was the rise of web-enabled applications.

Current web-enabled applications are necessary to ensure that we can surf the web, save orders/information online, auto-fill online forms, make online payment as well as ensure that any sensitive data (credit card/ bank ID details etc.) provided by us online is kept confidential.

From the point of view of enterprises, the growth of web applications has introduced many new ways of doing business, improving profits and expanding into new markets. You can click here to know more about web application development.

As the number of companies deploying such applications has grown, so has the number of technologies being used and the areas where these applications have been deployed provide significant benefits.

Beyond Traditional Web Applications: Future of Web Applications

Like any other evolving software technology market, today’s Web Application Development market is expected to grow beyond its traditional domain and provide even newer ways of doing business. The first one is obviously cloud applications – quite a few of these are already in existence such as Dropbox. Cloud applications extend the reach of traditional web-enabled applications and allow users to be truly mobile.

Another projected evolution of present day web applications is the introduction of various secure applications, which would ensure that users can carry out their online transactions with superior security and in greater numbers.

Another area of software development, mobile application development is also on a collision course with the traditional web application development market mainly due to the exponential increase smart phone usage and increased availability of reasonably-priced mobile internet data plans.

What Makes a Good Search Engine Optimization Specialist?

You can look for a firm that offers expert search engine optimization at affordable rates, and the money you spend on this idea will be paid for many times over in the long run by getting the SEO right from the start – this happens because you have hired an expert who will do the proper job in the beginning, instead of getting someone to do the job who is only half sure of what they are doing, and who has to be called back in time and again to correct previous mistakes.

Failing to use the right techniques could result in a lot of wasted money and effort that could be avoided by employing the service of someone who knows what they are doing when it comes to search engines. Before you hire an SEO company, you need to make sure that you have a proper website to increase your brand awareness because the real SEO work begins after your website is built properly.

Although it might cost a lot to hire an expert SEO consultant, it is wise to balance this cost out with the potential earnings when put up against the potential for having only a few customers because of an incorrectly applied search engine optimization campaign.

There are a ton of people who claim to be SEO experts, but there are only some of them who actually know what to do. If content is king, then you should look for people who understand how to write keyword-rich, relevant and interesting content.

If you own and operate an e-commerce website, it’s more important than ever before to ensure you have enhanced SEO optimization for the specific buying search terms that are important to you.

It’s not a question of whether search engine optimization provides value or not, as when you can get free organic search engine results under keywords your competition is paying for, it speaks for itself.

On-Site SEO Analysis

What many e-commerce website owners may not be aware of is the crucial importance your actual website makes in gaining high rankings. There is a multitude of different factors that must be addressed like title tags, meta tags, navigation development, user interaction, coding styles, just to name a few.

  1. Input Content

In the world of website optimization, there is no greater asset than having high-quality content going after keywords pointing to your online destination. Blogs, articles, social bookmarks and other forms of content development and distribution are vital to start seeing results and actually having search engines crawl your site and the content pointing towards it.

  1. Contact An SEO Consultant

There may come a time when you’ll need to get some advice from a trained SEO specialist who can show you the direct value of gaining top search results, especially in competitive e-commerce markets. Be sure to ask questions as to how work is accomplished, in what sort of time frames, costs for projects, reporting and management access to name a few. If you’re not able to get the results in-house, this is your only real option and a good one if you do your research and go with a team of search marketing experts.

Ten Ways To Promote Your Facebook Page

Remember the days when it was a must to have a website for your business? Well, those days are now long gone! Today, it is a must to have a Facebook Page for your business as well. Some companies don’t even have a website anymore. They are using Facebook as their front end to the Internet. Facebook has been traditionally a network for real people, individuals like you and me.

There are currently about 700 million of us using the network; and when there’s lots of people in one place it’s bound to attract some savvy business people as well. And this is where Facebook Pages come in to play.

When Facebook first introduced the Facebook Pages some years ago they became a big hit. The main idea was to provide Facebook users, who are also business owners an option to feature their businesses as well. Facebook’s Terms of Use prevent the use of Personal Profiles for commercial purposes, but with Facebook Pages you can promote your business as much as you like.

For instance Diageo, who own a brand of vodka called Smirnoff has created several Facebook Pages for the world famous drink. Smirnoff has built customized Facebook Pages for USA, UK, Australia, India, Brazil, Venezuela, Germany and Argentina. Together these pages have more than 3 million fans all over the world! What a great global marketing concept!

So, if you don’t have your own Facebook Page for your business yet, it is time to do so. If you already have one or two, then here are Ten Great Ways How You Can Promote Your Facebook Page:

1. Invite People To Like Your Page

You’ve got your own personal friends on Facebook, and some of them would definitely be interested in your business affairs as well. Send them an invite and ask them to Like your page.

2. Secure Your Facebook URL

After you have managed to get 25 fans for your Facebook Page you are eligible to apply for a Facebook username. For example This is very important as once it is chosen you own it for good. Facebook URL is comparable to registering your own domain name for your website; except Facebook names are free.

3. Show Your Facebook URL

Put your Facebook URL everywhere in your business communications. Put it in your business cards, stationery and email footers as well as print and TV advertising.

4. Promote On Twitter

Add a link to your Facebook Page into your Tweets. Connect your Twitter account and Facebook Page so that they feed information to each other.

5. Send An Email Blast

Send a few emails to your contact list and opt-in list inviting them to Like your new Facebook Page.

6. Advertise Your Facebook Page On Facebook

This is one of the best ways of getting fans quickly. Run a targeted advertising campaign on Facebook inviting people to Like your Facebook Page.

7. Keep Your Page Fresh

Once your Page is up and running do not abandon it.  Keep its Wall content fresh. Remember the viral nature of Facebook; when someone interacts with your Page the action appears on that person’s news feed promoting your page to their friends.

8. Use Facebook Social Plugins

Install a Facebook Like Button or Like Box on your website or blog. This will increase you fan base and creates additional traffic to your Facebook Page.

This blog is using both the Facebook Like Box, which you can see on the right; and the Like Button which is part of the social sharing panel at the beginning and end of each article.

9. Interact With Your Fans

Remember to always respond to comments on your page. Ask questions in the discussion board.  When someone new becomes a fan of your page, sent them a welcome message. If you have staff working for you consider adding them as an admin. This way you can share the responsibilities of your Page maintenance.

10. Write An Article

Write a few articles about your business, services  or products and send them to the biggest Article Directories, such as Ezine Articles or Go Articles. Put your Facebook Page URL in the source box. This will bring additional traffic and fans to your Page.

How Does Email Fit Into Social Media Marketing?

These days everyone is talking about social media marketing and how it is becoming the most important feature in marketing for businesses. But adding social media to the mix with good old email marketing gets even better results.

Using Your Own Email List Versus A Bought Email List

Email marketing is still very much alive and the results with this cost-effective advertising method are as good as the effort you are putting in it. Best results are achieved when you have collected the prospects’ and customers’ email addresses on your list yourself.

It is best not to use a bought or rented list because you can never be sure if that list is too old or truly targeted. Only brand new lists where all the addresses are valid and receivers haven’t been bombarded with emails may get some results. But the risks are very high in using a bought list. The recipients may not be interested in your business at all and easily report you as a spammer. It is not worth risking your reputation as a business. If too many recipients report you for spamming your IP address, server and domain can be registered as spam and you may struggle to send any more email marketing in the future. Bad reputation also spreads fast in today’s social media sharing environment. That is obviously something a reputable business wants to avoid.

Linking Email Newsletters With Social Media Marketing

Email marketing can easily be combined with social media marketing by adding your Like, Tweet and Share buttons to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. on every email newsletter. These are the same familiar buttons that you have seen on blogs such as this one. Using these social sharing buttons your newsletter subscribers can share your information and offers with their friends and colleagues. You just have to make the newsletters so interesting and valuable that people are compelled to share what you are saying. You’ll see how viral your email marketing has become from your successful results.

Reversing The Power Of Social Media

While people are connecting on social networking sites more and more every day, it is a great platform to promote your email newsletter. Talk about the topics in your social network accounts, give snippets of the information you are covering in your recent or upcoming newsletter articles and then include links to them. Also have an opt-in form on your social media accounts with an incentive to subscribe. That will make it easy for new prospects to become your newsletter subscribers.

Do You Know What Your Customers Want? Run A Survey On Facebook

One of the basic rules of marketing is that you should offer products and services that your customers actually want. Sounds like an intelligent rule, doesn’t it? There’s no point in pushing stuff that noboby wants, or needs. As a marketer all you need to do is find our what it is exactly that your customers want. But how do you do that? Well, one great way is to run a poll or survey on your Facebook Page. Running a poll is also good interaction with your fans. People like being asked their opinion and quite often give it freely. It is also a great way to engage your Facebook Fans. So, let’s go ahead and start asking some questions.

This Is How You Run A Survey On Your Facebook Page

Facebook Questions is a great way to ask your Facebook audience some questions. If you are running a commercial Facebook Page you can ask your fans their opinion on anything that you think is relevant to them as your potential customers.

Step 1 – Go to your Facebook Page as you would be writing your normal wall post. But this time click on the Question -link. This will open up a special survey panel.

Step 2 – After you have clicked the Question -link a new panel opens up where you can write your question and provide some answer options. For the purpose of this exercise I created a poll for my one of my Facebook Pages asking my fans how they find the recent changes and upgrades in the Facebook interface.

Here it is a good idea to offer options that are mutually exclusive. In other words plan your answer options so that there is no gray area between them. Make it easy to answer your question. Yes/No questions is a good way to start. I don’t usually offer the third ‘I don’t know’ -alternative unless my question is a complex one. You can provide as many answer options as your question requires. It is a good idea to untick the Allow anyone to add options -box unless you want more audience participation with your survey.

Good luck with your surveys! Let me know what you find out.

Which Social Website Generates The Most Traffic?

Which social network sends the most traffic to your website or blog? There are four big contenders for this title. Facebook, Twitter, Linked In and the new kid on the block, Google+. When we compare these one must remember that their target audience profiles can be quite different. Where Facebook, for instance is more useful in targeting the ‘normal’ consumers, LinkedIn is better suitable in reaching business people.

As you can see from the infographic Facebook is the clear winner. It created almost half of the total traffic. Twitter came in a good second.

1. Facebook 47.3% of total referred traffic

2. Twitter 27.5%

3. Google+ 15.4%

4. LinkedIn 9.8%

If Stumble Upon would have been included in the study my guess is that it would have rivalled Facebook for the top spot. Google+ did amazingly well considering that it is only about a month old social tool and still in testing mode. No wonder Facebook and Twitter are worried! One of the easiest ways of utilizing these social websites in your marketing is to use social sharing buttons on your website or blog.

This allows your audience spread your commercial (or non-commercial) message to their networks whether it’s Facebook, Twitter or something else. This blog for instance uses a customised Word Press plugin called 1 Click Retweet/Share/Like -plugin. You can see it at the top end of the posts. Give it a go if you’d like to share this article for instance.

Let me know what are your favorite Social Platforms and how you are using them in your online marketing .

There are legal ramifications for everything you do online, and many people and businesses simply don’t understand that.” To deal with this, make sure to have a strong employee social media policy and be aware of legal constraints, including copyrights, FTC advertising and full disclosure requirements and general privacy issues.

Lewis also represents sports companies and professional athletes with social media marketing and branding as he has successfully translated the mental and physical tools learned in sports to the business world.

Q1. What are the most important Social Media platforms at the moment?

The major three are Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, but I’m of course partial to LinkedIn. It’s the best platform for business and most powerful for networking in my opinion.

Q2. How do you see Social Media has changed the advertising communication?

I think social media marketing has challenged some of the major brands to re-evaluate their advertising efforts. Social media is focused on transparency and humanizing the brand, something you don’t always get in advertising communication. I see social media helping shape the future of advertising.

Q3. How do you measure the effects of Social Media Marketing?

There are specific ways I can measure the effects, such how many people sign up for my webinar or buy an eBook. I also look at the bigger picture results such as relationships formed or connections made. These can be harder to quantify but are still important to consider.

Q4. What social media platforms would you recommend to a company that is just starting their online marketing?

It depends on what their goals are, but primarily LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube for starters.

Q5. What are the key points to remember when a business starts using Social Media?

It is important to have a strategy from day one. Remember that not every platform is going to work for you particular business or market. Learn what works for you and be a good listener. Sometimes listening is more valuable than the message you’re putting out there.

Q6. How does Social Media Marketing differ from traditional marketing?

Well it happens a lot quicker, so you need to be constantly engaged to keep up. In some ways it’s not that different than traditional marketing. A lot of the same rules apply; it’s just the tools and platforms that are changing. I would say that social media is more relationship driven than traditional marketing.

Q7. Do you think every company (that has a website) should have a Social Media Strategy? Why?

Yes, there is some value for all companies in social media. How you best utilize it depends on your particular business. You can’t expect to use the same strategy for every company. I think people get caught up on the idea of needing to launch a campaign across every platform at once. Consider what makes sense before you dive in.

Q8. How do you see Facebook as a Social Media Marketing tool?

I give content that my friends want, and I stay on the top of mind with them by interacting on their wall.
